This was a fun re-model with a fun-loving homeowner. Know locally as 'the 50's guy' the homeowner wanted his kitchen to reflect his passion for that decade. Using Northstar appliances from Elmira Stove Works was just the beginning. We complemented the bright red of the appliances with white cabinets and black counters. Beautiful galley kitchen and great room. The trick was tying the two spaces together. We did this by using white with brown glaze cabinets on the island and entertainment center, with Golden Crystal granite on both. This San Diego, California kitchen remodel was designed in a small rectangular space. The kitchen is highlighted with granite countertops, green subway tiling, black appliances and a custom ornate kitchen sink.

This transitional style kitchen has a 3-level island which provides seating, additional storage and breaks up the large scale of the island. With the open plan, the 2 large appliance garages help supplement wall cabinet storage and help block the view of the sink in this multi-level island. Cherry cabinets, honed granite, slate backsplash and Kenya Reed Lumicore door inserts add texture and pattern. The large circular pulls are custom but the remainder are stock pulls.

This Craftsman style kitchen displays warm earth tones between the cabinetry and various stone details. Richly stained quartersawn red oak cabinetry in a shaker door style feature simple mullion details and dark metal hardware. Slate backsplash tiles, granite countertops, and a marble sink complement each other as stunning natural elements.
