Ed Sossich and Main Line Kitchen Design owner Paul McAlary have worked together at many different showrooms over 20 plus years. Ed refers to the pair as Batman and Robin although who is who is up for debate. Bringing Ed on to check and expedite all of Main Line Kitchen Design’s orders has kept mistakes and delays at our expanding company to a minimum. Ed, (Batman or Robin), your guess, can be found checking our company’s orders and designing his customer’s kitchens in our new Upper Darby office on City Line Avenue. Ed is quick with a joke although his yellow legal pad is no joking matter for our designers. Ed makes the trains run on time at Main Line Kitchen Design.

This kitchen might be small, but now it is mighty. Taking a dark closed in space and being able to open it up to create a broad, open concept kitchen that is now bright and modern, is one of the strongest transformations we have done so far this year. We started with removing walls, soffits and that dated popcorn ceiling. Taking the water heater outdoors gave us a bit more space as well. Once we had the room empty, we got to put it back together in a much more functional way. Adjusting the locations of the fridge and stove created a better working area for these homeowners. This kitchen now boasts a 30 inch range with matching stainless steel hood. Subway tile in a herringbone patter makes up the backsplash from stove to ceiling, and spreads across the whole kitchen space. Navy blue cabinets create a deep base for the bright white upper cabinets and countertops. The countertops are a Quartz material that is created to mimic a Carrara marble. A stunning addition to the space. Stainless steel fixtures throughout keep the look clean and minimalistic, such as the double spray Moen faucet. The apron front single bowl kink by Kohler in their White Haven style brings a touch of old world charm into the room. Adding to the functionality, a new sliding glass patio door took the place of the old outdated slider. Milgard provided the new energy efficient door, and kitchen window. Topping off the space is oversized crown moldings set atop risers on each of the upper cabinets. And last but certainly not least, is the 6x24, commercially rated porcelain tile that perfectly mimics a true old fashioned wood floor, with all the modern functionality. A perfect way to warm up the bright cool space.

We redesigned the kitchen in In two contrasting Homecrest cabinet finishes, Maple Anchor and Maple Iceberg. As a focal point, a custom wood hood with metal straps was built. For the counters, luxurious quartz counters were installed creating a large eat-in island. We chose Orian Blanco by Silestone for the kitchen, island and bar countertop. A stylish hexagon tile was used for the backsplash. Decorate elements of white lines in scattered tiles were subtly incorporated adding an element of fun to the space.

This bright kitchen used to be anything but, had dark cabinets and floor tiles that the owner said must go! Lightening this working kitchen for this family was a must. Client had an idea of their dream kitchen for this house and we made that happen. The transformation is like night and day, literally! Refacing the existing cabinets with a shaker style door and modern pulls brought this outdated kitchen to the present times. Converted some of the base cabinets to deep fully extending drawers gave more functional storage space for those hard to reach back corners of base door cabinets. We removed some of the closed cabinets and opted for open custom wood shelves to displace everyday dishes and create a pleasing natural feeling area in this kitchen. Behind those shelves we took a skinny white matte finish tile and went to the ceiling with it to make the room feel taller. Using a waterfall edge on the two peninsulas. That creates a nice space to house these two mid century barstools. We built a custom pantry and catch all area with deep drawers, a surface to drop keys or mail at and a tall upper cabinet for those other pantry items. Next to that we did a bench in the breakfast area. The soft gray cushion adds some warmth to the space. The flooring we took through the majority of the house, a wide plank tile that looks like wood! It looks so real people even ask what kind of wood it is when they see it! A smooth walnut coloring and look was perfect for this style of the rest of the home. So happy to help this family love their kitchen and feel like it belongs with the rest of their home!

A Cool and Moody Kitchen AS SEEN ON: SEASON 3, EPISODE 7 OF MASTERS OF FLIP The perfect place for a hot cup of coffee on a rainy day, the custom kitchen in this modern-meets-industrial home is dark, stormy, and full of character. Polished slate countertops team up with the dark Wren stain on our Gallatin cabinets to create a moody take on modern style. The upper cabinets feature unique up-open hinged doors that add an unexpected element while floating shelves let the penny tile on the backsplash shine. Greenery, copper trinkets, and small clay pots add eye-catching detail throughout the space, creating a curated yet comfortable atmosphere. To maintain the sleek design that this space works so hard for, all of those crucial – yet perhaps not so stylish – amenities are tucked away in the base cabinets, including an under counter microwave unit and a lazy susan in the corner cabinets.

This eclectic kitchen design in Mission Viejo-Lake View brings light into the space through a large window, which is then beautifully reflected in the mirror paneled pantry doors. The mirrors add depth and light to the space, giving the kitchen a bright, airy feel. Glass pendant lights, recessed lighting, and under- and in-cabinet lights complete the multi-layered lighting design. The Columbia Cabinetry recessed panel kitchen cabinets bring a traditional foundation to the kitchen design. White perimeter cabinetry includes glass front upper cabinets with in cabinet lighting, offering the perfect place to display dishes and glassware. This is beautifully contrasted by gray island cabinetry, all accented by Top Knobs cabinet hardware. The island incorporates seating for casual dining and an angled undercounter power strip. A white engineered quartz countertop is a stylish and practical complement to the cabinetry. The white and gray theme carries through in the marble backsplash, which brings the natural texture and color of this material to the design. A porcelain tile wood look floor brings warmth to the color scheme, in a durable and easy to maintain material. Stainless steel appliances feature throughout the design, including the LG refrigerator and range, Sharp microwave drawer, and Zephyr chimney vent hood. A backsplash tile feature design adds a focal point above the range. The beverage center incorporates a Zephyr wine refrigerator. An Allia by Rohl white fireclay undermount sink is positioned facing the large kitchen window that overlooks a stunning view and is accompanied by a pull-down sprayer faucet. This Mission Viejo-Lake View kitchen design brings together materials, textures, lighting, and complementary colors to create a stunning space. This was an extensive full home remodel completed in Tempe, AZ. The Kitchen used to be towards the front of the house. After some plumbing and electrical moves, we moved the kitchen to the back of the home to create an open concept living space with more usable space! Both bathrooms were entirely remodeled, and we created a zero threshold walk in shower in the master bathroom. Everything in this home is brand new, including windows flooring, cabinets, counter tops, all of the beautiful fixtures and more!

Drastic kitchen and bathroom transformation pictures coming your way. This remodeling project has a bitter sweet story. This home was built in 1975 and was the childhood home for our client. Many, many holidays, birthdays, graduations, and life milestones were celebrated here with her brothers and sisters. This home was the hub for all life events and milestones. When her parents passed a few years ago, our client decided to purchase the home with plans of renovations and continuing the family traditions and celebrations she always loved. That's where we come in. Our job was to redesign the kitchen and bathroom into a functional space where family and friends could gather during the celebratory times and give it a rustic flare. Challenge accepted! What was on their wish list? •Remove the peninsula area and add an island. ✔️ Got it! •Warm colors, materials to be used to give a rustic farmhouse feel. ✔️ Yes Ma'am! •Open the wall to the family room. ✔️ Absolutely! •Tone down the orange bathroom and turn it into a half bath. ✔️ Our pleasure! As you can see from the before and after pictures, every wish was signed sealed and delivered. A new chapter is happening in this home. Memories of Mom and Dad are still alive and well in every space of this home and now traditions will continue with loving thoughts of the past and excitement of the future. Working for this family was truly an honor.
