BeachHaus is built on a previously developed site on Siesta Key. It sits directly on the bay but has Gulf views from the upper floor and roof deck. The client loved the old Florida cracker beach houses that are harder and harder to find these days. They loved the exposed roof joists, ship lap ceilings, light colored surfaces and inviting and durable materials. Given the risk of hurricanes, building those homes in these areas is not only disingenuous it is impossible. Instead, we focused on building the new era of beach houses; fully elevated to comfy with FEMA requirements, exposed concrete beams, long eaves to shade windows, coralina stone cladding, ship lap ceilings, and white oak and terrazzo flooring. The home is Net Zero Energy with a HERS index of -25 making it one of the most energy efficient homes in the US. It is also certified NGBS Emerald. Photos by Ryan Gamma Photography

Dans cette belle maison de banlieue, il s'agissait de créer un cocon fonctionnel et chaleureux pour toute la famille. Lui est à Londres la semaine, elle à Paris avec les enfants. Nous avons donc créé un espace de vie convivial qui convient à tous les membres de la famille.

Le tout est mis en lumière par les spots encastrés sous les meubles hauts et les fines poignées en acier. Last year we were asked to help design and install a kitchen in one of the local villages. The only problem was...there were 3 walls in the way! We knew we could help with an entire room transformation and open-up. Helping the customer to visualise the room was really important. Would they get enough cupboards? Was there space for the island? Would the ratio of kitchen space to the rest of the room be right? The design process really helped them to see what was possible. They had a good idea on the style of kitchen – our Furore handleless range from Crown Imperial really ticked the box for them – and coupled with the lovely Ice Crystal worktops from Minerva and Samsung appliances we really got everything on the wish list in to the room. Stacking the Dual Flex Oven, Combi microwave and warming drawer in one larder unit freed up enough room to include the Crown Spacetower which offers storage galore. We love the sleek pan drawers and the wine fridge on the island too. The microwave has been taken away from the counter and the Franke 4 in 1 boiling water tap also helps to keep the worktops clear of clutter. And the flip socket on the island allows the customer to use the large worktop both for cooking creation and working space! We also revamped the utility room as part of the project. A cheeky little divide in the larder unit allowing storage for the ironing board but shelves elsewhere to keep that beautiful open plan kitchen sleek and tidy. Stunning!

It contains no harmful chemicals and do not emit harmful radiation or gasses. Granite is heat resistant and is one of the most heat-resistant countertops on the market. You can place a hot pan out of the oven directly onto the countertop surface. Experts do recommend the use of a trivet when using appliances that emit heat for long periods of time, such as crockpots. Since the material is so dense, there is a small possibility heating one area of the top and not the entire thing, could cause the countertop to crack. Granite is scratch resistant. You can cut on it, but it will dull your knives! Granite scores a seven on Moh’s hardness scale. Granite countertops are considered to be a low maintenance countertop surface. The likelihood of needing to be repaired or resurfaced is low. Granite is a porous material. Most fabricators will apply a sealer to granite countertops before they are installed which will protect them from absorbing liquids too quickly. Many sealers last more than 10 years before needing to be reapplied. When they do need to be reapplied, it is something that most homeowners can do on their own as the process is similar to cleaning. Darker granites are very dense and sometimes don’t even require a sealer. When it comes to pricing, there are a lot of variables such as edge profile, total square footage, backsplash, etc. Don’t be fooled by the stereotype that all granite is expensive. Lower-range granites will cost less than high-range laminate. Though granite countertops are not considered “low range” in pricing, there are a lot of affordable options. If you are looking for something truly unique, consider an exotic granite. Some quarries are not easily accessible and/or only able to be quarried for short periods of time throughout the year. If these circumstances exist in a quarry with gorgeous stone, the price will be driven upward. You won’t find a lot of solid patterns or bright colors, but both do exist. Also, watch for a large range of color and pattern within the same color of stone. It’s always a good idea to view the exact slab(s) that will be fabricated for your kitchen to make sure they are what you expected to see from the sample. Another factor is that many exotic types of granite have huge flowing waves, and a small sample will not be an accurate representation of the whole slab. Granite countertops are very resistant to chemicals. Acids and bases will not harm the material.

We removed the old ikea kitchen to bring the house into a more contemporary feel. Muted tones compliment each other while a door to the outdoor pool and larger window provide a connection.

Even though they went with a full size stove, there is still room for drawers and counter space on either side of it, keeping it very functional.

Інженери Anova більше року експерементували з комбінацією складових і нарешті ми досягли результату, що нас цілком задовольнив! У новому матеріалі ми можемо, за бажанням замовника, регулювати кількість та розмір повітряних кишень, розмір та частоту тріщин. У цій кухні ми також використали тонкий 15мм фасад, для того, щоб зробити зазори між фасадами максимально тонкими.

This project for the refurbishment and extension of a semi-detached Gaorgian house in Twickenham presented its challenges. The original house had been extended in different moments and the resulting layout showed a number of change of floor level and ceiling heights. The result was chaotic and the spaces felt dark and small. By replacing the existing stair and forming a new one with a skylight above, we manged to bring daylight to the middle section of the house. A first floor rear extension (to form a new bedroom) was also used as an excuse to level the ceiling. The result is a bright environment where spaces flow organically.
