Appliance panels were used on the refrigerator to maintain a cohesive design. The waterfall countertop provides seating for four and features modern ghost barstools with chrome bases. The island houses a 30" x 20" - 5 burner Gaggenau cooktop. All cabinets are Wood-Mode and feature the Vanguard Plus door style. Our client chose platinum blue matt and oak effect cashmere grey doors to help create a bright airy space. Clever storage solutions were key to this design, as we tried to come up with many storage options to help with the family's needs. The long, island is a bold statement within the room, as the two separate islands are connected by a simple, solid wood worktop, making the design unique. The mix-match of colours and materials work really well within the space and really show off the clients personality.

Located less than a quarter of a mile from the iconic Widemouth Bay in North Cornwall, this innovative development of five detached dwellings is sympathetic to the local landscape character, whilst providing sustainable and healthy spaces to inhabit. As a collection of unique custom-built properties, the success of the scheme depended on the quality of both design and construction, utilising a palette of colours and textures that addressed the local vernacular and proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. A fundamental objective was to ensure that the new houses made a positive contribution towards the enhancement of the area and used environmentally friendly materials that would be low-maintenance and highly robust – capable of withstanding a harsh maritime climate. Externally, bonded Porcelanosa façade at ground level and articulated, ventilated Porcelanosa façade on the first floor proved aesthetically flexible but practical. Used alongside natural stone and slate, the Porcelanosa façade provided a colourfast alternative to traditional render. Internally, the streamlined design of the buildings is further emphasized by Porcelanosa worktops in the kitchens and tiling in the bathrooms, providing a durable but elegant finish. The sense of community was reinforced with an extensive landscaping scheme that includes a communal garden area sown with wildflowers and the planting of apple, pear, lilac and lime trees. Cornish stone hedge bank boundaries between properties further improves integration with the indigenous terrain. This pioneering project allows occupants to enjoy life in contemporary, state-of-the-art homes in a landmark development that enriches its environs. One wowee kitchen! Designed for a family with Sri-Lankan and Singaporean heritage, the brief for this project was to create a Scandi-Asian styled kitchen. The design features ‘Skog’ wall panelling, straw bar stools, open shelving, a sofia swing, a bar and an olive tree.

In 2019, Interior designer Alexandra Brown approached Matter to design and make cabinetry for this penthouse apartment. The brief was to create a rich and opulent space, featuring a favoured smoked oak veneer. We looked to the Art Deco inspired features of the building and referenced its curved corners and newly installed aged brass detailing in our design. We combined the smoked oak veneer with cambia ash cladding in the kitchen and bar areas to complement the green and brown quartzite stone surfaces chosen by Alex perfectly. We then designed custom brass handles, shelving and a large-framed mirror as a centrepiece for the bar, all crafted impeccably by our friends at JN Custom Metal. Functionality and sustainability were the focus of our design, with hard-wearing charcoal Abet Laminati drawers and door fronts in the kitchen with custom J pull handles, Grass Nova ProScala drawers and Osmo oiled veneer that can be easily reconditioned over time. This photo: For a couple's house in Paradise Valley, architect C.P. Drewett created a sleek modern kitchen with Caesarstone counters and tile backsplashes from Art Stone LLC. Porcelain-tile floors from Villagio Tile & Stone provide contrast to the dark-stained vertical-grain white-oak cabinetry fabricated by Reliance Custom Cabinets. Positioned near the base of iconic Camelback Mountain, “Outside In” is a modernist home celebrating the love of outdoor living Arizonans crave. The design inspiration was honoring early territorial architecture while applying modernist design principles. Dressed with undulating negra cantera stone, the massing elements of “Outside In” bring an artistic stature to the project’s design hierarchy. This home boasts a first (never seen before feature) — a re-entrant pocketing door which unveils virtually the entire home’s living space to the exterior pool and view terrace. A timeless chocolate and white palette makes this home both elegant and refined. Oriented south, the spectacular interior natural light illuminates what promises to become another timeless piece of architecture for the Paradise Valley landscape. The previous kitchen was the result of an 80's remodel, complete with dropped ceiling. We opened up the space and re-configured the entire kitchen to include a large island. The cabinetry is all custom. Double oven and range from Miele. SubZero fridge. The backsplash tile is from Heath Ceramics in LA. The Velux skylights are operable and have solar-powered shades.
