OK – maybe it’s a little more than a pop of color, but it takes this kitchen to the next level. The shiny, blue tile is an unexpected move that completely transforms this space. Material choice in this project had more of a significance because the kitchen’s shape and size didn’t change and was still rather confined. After removing a wall, this once very tiny kitchen opened up into the dinning area, new hardwood floors throughout the house and bright white painted cabinets transformed this tiny kitchen into a spectacular kitchen with it's custom made bistro table in a vineyard theme.

We took this original 1980s Kitchen and gave it a major remodel. We removed the wall that separated the Dining Room from the Kitchen. Our goal was to create an open space with lots of seating and surface area to accommodate family gatherings. The transitional aesthetic is timeless and cohesive with various materials, from the Walnut Island, Hickory Flooring, glass backsplash tile, statement lighting, and the beautiful Quartz countertops. The Cambria countertop showcases whites, light gray, dark gray, sparkle, and black specks. These colors offer the perfect option for the walnut island and white perimeter cabinets.

My client was sick of the dark and less functional kitchen, she likes to have the holidays at her house and she loved to bake. I knew that she wanted to put in an island as a prep space to chop, but I also knew it was going to have to be thin. In the end she loved how functional the design was (skinny island and all) and she loves how bright and inviting it became.
