This 1950's rambler had never been remodeled by the owner's parents. Now it was time for a complete refresh. It went from 4 bedrooms to 3 in order to build out an improved owners suite with an expansive closet and accessible and spacious bathroom. Original hardwood floors were kept and new were laced in throughout. All the new cabinets, doors, and trim are now maple and much more modern. Countertops are quartz. All the windows were replaced, the chimney was repaired, the roof replaced, and exterior painting completed the look. A complete transformation!

This custom kitchen remodel blends modern functionality with traditional touches. Design features include walnut open shelving that's under-lit, sconces above every window, and light blue raffia wallpaper.

Compact kitchen in the Caretakers Apartment complete with 24" glass top GE Electric Free-Standing Range and 24" LG Fridge and Freezer Combo (not shown). Red painted shaker cabinets, with white glass knobs and Pental Quartz countertops and 4" blacksplash in "Polished Cashmere". Kohler stainless steel single bowl sink, top mounted, with Kohler Simplice faucet in vibrant stainless. Wall mounted sconce above the sink is Shades of Sleek Contemporary bath light in rubbed bronze. Walls are Sherwin Willams "White Heron Stain", baseboards, window sills and beams are hemlock in Wurth "Morgeau" stain. Flooring is Cathedral Plank in "Gold Coast Oak." Tongue and groove ceiling is rough sawn fir and spruce. Floating shelves on sink wall use floating shelve brackets and are finished in the same wood at the exposed beams.

Set within an airy contemporary extension to a lovely Georgian home, the Siatama Kitchen is our most ambitious project to date. The client, a master cook who taught English in Siatama, Japan, wanted a space that spliced together her love of Japanese detailing with a sophisticated Scandinavian approach to wood. At the centre of the deisgn is a large island, made in solid british elm, and topped with a set of lined drawers for utensils, cutlery and chefs knifes. The 4-post legs of the island conform to the 寸 (pronounced ‘sun’), an ancient Japanese measurement equal to 3cm. An undulating chevron detail articulates the lower drawers in the island, and an open-framed end, with wood worktop, provides a space for casual dining and homework. A full height pantry, with sliding doors with diagonally-wired glass, and an integrated american-style fridge freezer, give acres of storage space and allow for clutter to be shut away. A plant shelf above the pantry brings the space to life, making the most of the high ceilings and light in this lovely room.

Clean lines and warm tones abound in this deliciously modern kitchen with hardworking stainless-steel appliances. The alder cabinetry is stained a warm honey tone. Off-white quartz countertops cap the perimeter cabinets and climb the backsplash creating a seamless look. An extra thick countertop of the same material covers the island and waterfalls to the floor on one end. A handsome hammered bronze prep sink is paired with a faucet in a gunmetal finish by Watermark Designs.

With a vision to blend functionality and aesthetics seamlessly, our design experts embarked on a journey that breathed new life into every corner. Our design plan was inspired by the large arched opening to the dining room right off the kitchen. This theme is artfully replicated throughout the space, complemented by rustic wooden floors and creamy walls and cabinets, evoking a gentle European countryside ambience. Introducing new arched doorways enhanced both traffic flow and visual intrigue, especially when framing the new range. Additional embellishments included wooden headers on the range hood and kitchen window, further enhancing the overall aesthetic. Project completed by Wendy Langston's Everything Home interior design firm, which serves Carmel, Zionsville, Fishers, Westfield, Noblesville, and Indianapolis. Both the design and construction teams put their heart into making sure we worked with the client to achieve this gorgeous vision. The client was sensitive to both aesthetic and functionality goals, so we set out to improve their old, dated cramped kitchen, with an open concept that facilitates cooking workflow, and dazzles the eye with its mid century modern design. One of their biggest items was their need for increased storage space. We certainly achieved that with ample cabinet space and doubling their pantry space. The 13 foot waterfall island is the centerpiece, which is heavily utilized for cooking, eating, playing board games and hanging out. The pantry behind the walnut doors used to be the fridge space, and there's an extra pantry now to the left of the current fridge. We moved the sink from the counter to the island, which really helped workflow (we created triangle between cooktop, sink and fridge/pantry 2). To make the cabinets flow linearly at the top we moved and replaced the window. The beige paint is called alpaca from Sherwin Williams and the blue is charcoal blue from sw. Everything was carefully selected, from the horizontal grain on the walnut cabinets, to the subtly veined white quartz from Arizona tile, to the black glass paneled luxury hood from Futuro Futuro. The pendants and chandelier are from West Elm. The flooring is from karastan; a gorgeous engineered, white oak in herringbone pattern. The recessed lights are decorative from Lumens. The pulls are antique brass from plank hardware (in London). We sourced the door handles and cooktop (Empava) from Houzz. The faucet is Rohl and the sink is Bianco.
