Un espace semi-ouvert sur le séjour L’espace de la pièce a été repensé par un jeu de cloisons : celle qui masquait l’angle droit a été supprimé, et on en a créé une, avec verrière, pour délimiter la cuisine du séjour. Etant positionnée face à la porte d’entrée, cette cloison permet visuellement de faire reculer cette zone. L’agencement a été revu, notamment en déplaçant le pôle cuisson, et en créant une zone repas. Des placards hauts ont été remplacés par des colonnes pour épurer la partie droite de la cuisine. L’association du blanc, du noir et du bois en fait une cuisine moderne,. Quelques clins d’oeil au look industriel lui confèrent une vraie personnalité.

Destiné à accueillir un père et sa fille, nous avons choisi de privilégier l’espace jour en décloisonnant un maximum.Dans l’espace nuit d’à peine 20m2, avec une seule fenêtre, mais avec une belle hauteur de plafond, les verrières se sont imposées pour délimiter les chambres, tandis que nous avons exploité l’espace verticalement pour garder du volume au sol. L’objectif: un esprit loft et cosy avec du volume et du charme.⁠⁠

Le projet : Un studio de 30m2 défraîchi avec une petite cuisine fermée à l’ancienne et une salle de bains usée. Des placards peu pratiques et une électricité à remettre aux normes. La propriétaire souhaite remettre l’ensemble à neuf de manière optimale pour en faire son pied à terre parisien. Notre solution : Nous allons supprimer une partie des murs côté cuisine et placard. De cette façon nous allons créer une belle cuisine ouverte avec îlot central et rangements. Un grand cube menuisé en bois permet de cacher intégralement le réfrigérateur côté cuisine et un dressing avec penderies et tablettes coulissantes, côté salon. Une chambre est créée dans l’espace avec verrière et porte métallique coulissante. La salle de bains est refaite intégralement avec baignoire et plan vasque sur-mesure permettant d’encastrer le lave-linge. Electricité et chauffage sont refait à neuf.

Cette petite cuisine a été entièrement repensée. Pour pouvoir agrandir la salle de bain le choix a été fait de diminuer la surface de la cuisine. Elle reste néanmoins très fonctionnelle car toutes les fonctions d'usage sont présentes mais masquées par les portes de placard (frigo, four micro ondes, hotte, rangements.... ) Elle est séparée du salon par un clairevoie ce qui la lie au reste de l'appartement sans pour autant être complétement ouverte.

This project was a gut renovation of a loft on Park Ave. South in Manhattan – it’s the personal residence of Andrew Petronio, partner at KA Design Group. Bilotta Senior Designer, Jeff Eakley, has worked with KA Design for 20 years. When it was time for Andrew to do his own kitchen, working with Jeff was a natural choice to bring it to life. Andrew wanted a modern, industrial, European-inspired aesthetic throughout his NYC loft. The allotted kitchen space wasn’t very big; it had to be designed in such a way that it was compact, yet functional, to allow for both plenty of storage and dining. Having an island look out over the living room would be too heavy in the space; instead they opted for a bar height table and added a second tier of cabinets for extra storage above the walls, accessible from the black-lacquer rolling library ladder. The dark finishes were selected to separate the kitchen from the rest of the vibrant, art-filled living area – a mix of dark textured wood and a contrasting smooth metal, all custom-made in Bilotta Collection Cabinetry. The base cabinets and refrigerator section are a horizontal-grained rift cut white oak with an Ebony stain and a wire-brushed finish. The wall cabinets are the focal point – stainless steel with a dark patina that brings out black and gold hues, picked up again in the blackened, brushed gold decorative hardware from H. Theophile. The countertops by Eastern Stone are a smooth Black Absolute; the backsplash is a black textured limestone from Artistic Tile that mimics the finish of the base cabinets. The far corner is all mirrored, elongating the room. They opted for the all black Bertazzoni range and wood appliance panels for a clean, uninterrupted run of cabinets. A partir de aquí la intervención se agrupó toda en un mismo gesto. Un gran cofre/mueble que contiene una habitación, la cocina, armarios y la zona de lavandería. La habitación se alza 80cm del suelo, consiguiendo vistas y privacidad al mismo tiempo. El resto se agrupa a su alrededor. En la imagen se puede observar la zona de la cocina.

Custom Quonset Huts become artist live/work spaces, aesthetically and functionally bridging a border between industrial and residential zoning in a historic neighborhood. The open space on the main floor is designed to be flexible for artists to pursue their creative path. Upstairs, a living space helps to make creative pursuits in an expensive city more attainable. The two-story buildings were custom-engineered to achieve the height required for the second floor. End walls utilized a combination of traditional stick framing with autoclaved aerated concrete with a stucco finish. Steel doors were custom-built in-house.
