This one is near and dear to my heart. Not only is it in my own backyard, it is also the first remodel project I've gotten to do for myself! This space was previously a detached two car garage in our backyard. Seeing it transform from such a utilitarian, dingy garage to a bright and cheery little retreat was so much fun and so rewarding! This space was slated to be an AirBNB from the start and I knew I wanted to design it for the adventure seeker, the savvy traveler, and those who appreciate all the little design details . My goal was to make a warm and inviting space that our guests would look forward to coming back to after a full day of exploring the city or gorgeous mountains and trails that define the Pacific Northwest. I also wanted to make a few bold choices, like the hunter green kitchen cabinets or patterned tile, because while a lot of people might be too timid to make those choice for their own home, who doesn't love trying it on for a few days?At the end of the day I am so happy with how it all turned out! --- Project designed by interior design studio Kimberlee Marie Interiors. Our Long Island studio used a bright, neutral palette to create a cohesive ambiance in this beautiful lower level designed for play and entertainment. We used wallpapers, tiles, rugs, wooden accents, soft furnishings, and creative lighting to make it a fun, livable, sophisticated entertainment space for the whole family. The multifunctional space has a golf simulator and pool table, a wine room and home bar, and televisions at every site line, making it THE favorite hangout spot in this home. ---Project designed by Long Island interior design studio Annette Jaffe Interiors. Turned an empty, unused formal living room into a hip bourbon bar and library lounge for a couple who relocated to DFW from Louisville, KY. They wanted a place they could entertain friends or just hang out and relax with a cocktail or a good book. We added the wet bar and library shelves, and kept things modern and warm, with a wink to the prohibition era. The formerly deserted room is now their favorite spot. A former hallway pantry closet was converted into this stylish and useful beverage center. Refrigerated drawers below the espresso machine keep ingredients cool, and a Calacatta quartzite insert repeats the finishes and materials used in the neighboring kitchen.

We opted for an Art Deco-inspired scheme. We designed the bar’s concave wood panels which were coated with a platinum finish. The rear wall area onto which shelves are mounted is sheathed with sheets of antiqued mercury glass. There are an aged brass sink and its matching faucet on the left side.

This wet bar is situated in a corner of the dining room adjacent to the screened porch entrance for easy warm weather serving. Black shaker cabinets with antiqued glass fall in with the old glass of the original Dutch door.

The bar areas in the basement also serves as a small kitchen for when family and friends gather. A soft grey brown finish on the cabinets combines perfectly with brass hardware and accents. The drink fridge and microwave are functional for entertaining. The recycled glass tile is a show stopper!

This dining room wet bar is flanked by stainless steal wine columns. Crisp white lift up cabinets proved ample storage for glass ware either side of the flyover top treatment with LED lighting to add drama to decorative items. The graphic dimensional back splash tile adds texture and drama to the wall mounted faucet and under mount sink. Charcoal honed granite counters adds drama to the space while the rough hewn European oak cabinetry provides texture and warmth to the design scheme.
