This client loves everything about the color brown and dark rich colored woods. We created the feeling and look of Tuscany with its dark earth tones and green hillsides. We also took a boring lifeless corner wall soffit and turned it into a rustic beautiful wine bar with storage and beautiful counter space. The exterior of home was restuccoed and castle rock added. Vignettes helped them with the shaping and location of new outdoor hard scape, and where to apply the beautiful stone. At Vignettes not only can we help you with the interior but also help you to achieve the perfect flow from outdoor to indoor.

All shelves are made with invisible fixing. Massive mirror at the back is cut to eliminate any visible joints. All shelves supplied with led lights to lit up things displayed on shelves

Materials used for this project are a 36”x 12’ Parota live edge slab for the countertop, paint grade plywood for the cabinets, and 1/2” x 2” x 12” wood planks that were painted & textured for the wall background. The shelves and decor provided by the designer.

I love seeing a house go up from the blueprints to the end of the build. It is always a journey filled with a thousand decisions, some creative on-the-spot thinking and yes, usually a few stressful moments. This Naperville project was a collaboration with a local builder and architect. The Kitchen Studio collaborated by completing the cabinetry design and final layout for the entire home. In the basement, we carried the warm gray tones into a custom bar, featuring a 90” wide beverage center from True Appliances. The glass shelving in the open cabinets and the antique mirror give the area a modern twist on a classic pub style bar. Directly adjacent to the main bar is the wine bar. Similar to the main area, this bar is created with complimenting walnut stained cabinetry, natural stone backsplash, and quarts countertop. The difference is in the details, with the custom wine rack and brass chain link doors.

An otherwise unremarkable lower level is now a layered, multifunctional room including a place to play, watch, sleep, and drink. Our client didn’t want light, bright, airy grey and white - PASS! She wanted established, lived-in, stories to tell, more to make, and endless interest. So we put in true French Oak planks stained in a tobacco tone, dressed the walls in gold rivets and black hemp paper, and filled them with vintage art and lighting. We added a bar, sleeper sofa of dreams, and wrapped a drink ledge around the room so players can easily free up their hands to line up their next shot or elbow bump a teammate for encouragement! Soapstone, aged brass, blackened steel, antiqued mirrors, distressed woods and vintage inspired textiles are all at home in this story - GAME ON! Check out the laundry details as well. The beloved house cats claimed the entire corner of cabinetry for the ultimate maze (and clever litter box concealment). Overall, a WIN-WIN!
