The bookcases were designed using stock cabinets then faced w/ typical trim detail. This saves cost and gives a custom built-in look. The doorways to 2 Bedrooms were integrated into the bookcases.

The clients, and older quiet couple, wanted a Modern Eclectic look that incorporate their bold modern, yet transitional style. The home redesign features a neutral palette with luscious custom window treatments, vibrant colors and flowers in wall art, and multiple custom H Studio sculptures, coffee table, and side tables. Also highlighted are elegant and modern crystal light fixtures, mirrors, and abstract art.

As part of refurbishing the common areas of The Republic Apartments, Elegant in Design was asked to consult on the internal paint colours and furniture selection of the ground floor lobby. The building had previously been refreshed with a new external colour scheme and had new carpet in each lift lobby. I took inspiration from these colours and finishes to marry the external and internal pallets. I replaced the feature wall colour in each lift lobby with a single wall colour throughout, creating interest with pops of contrast colour on unit and service doors. I was also asked to select a furniture package for the ground floor lobby. Taking direction from the gold accents in the wall panelling, I echoed this detail in the legs of the coffee table. Contemplating the space, the end user, minimising maintenance, and the building manager’s daily tasks I selected a grouping of armchairs clustered to form a conversational waiting area. The armchairs were upholstered in a brilliant navy fabric to complement the gold accents.

The light and airy stairs and landing also has lots of doors leading to rooms painted in strong colours, so to keep it simple, the walls have been painted in Ammonite, by Farrow & Ball, with Strong White on the woodwork and ceilings and the wall going up the stairs has been accentuated with this traditional wallpaper by Borastapeter; Nora from the Anno collection. Luckily the existing carpet is a neutral soft beige/grey, so won't need replacing at this stage, a relief to our client, who was trying to minimise costs at this stage. We are very keen to keep your costs within budget whilst making your home beautiful.

Eldon Grey flatweave stair runner in 100% wool. A bold, repeating herringbone stripe stair runner in shades of grey with an elegant border. The narrow widths can be joined by hand to create distinctive bespoke rugs and wall to wall flooring. The nature of the flatweave gives the designs added texture and the suppleness means they can be fitted on to almost all staircases - straight or winding. The flatweave runners are woven and hand-finished in the UK using traditional techniques.
