We wanted to design a kitchen that would be sympathetic to the original features of our client's Georgian townhouse while at the same time function as the focal point for a busy household. The brief was to design a light, unfussy and elegant kitchen to lessen the effects of the slightly low-ceilinged room. Jack Trench Ltd responded to this by designing a hand-painted kitchen with echoes of an 18th century Georgian farmhouse using a light Oak and finishing with a palette of heritage yellow. This kitchen used an in-frame design with mainly one painted colour, that being the Farrow & Ball Old White. This was accented with natural oak on the island unit pillars and on the bespoke cooker hood canopy. The Island unit features slide away tray storage on one side with tongue and grove panelling most of the way round. All of the Cupboard internals in this kitchen where clad in a Birch veneer. The main Focus of the kitchen was a Mercury Range Cooker in Blueberry. Above the Mercury cooker was a bespoke hood canopy designed to be at the correct height in a very low ceiling room. The sink and tap where from Franke, the sink being a VBK 720 twin bowl ceramic sink and a Franke Venician tap in chrome. The whole kitchen was topped of in a beautiful granite called Ivory Fantasy in a 30mm thickness with pencil round edge profile.

In this 100 year old farmhouse adding a pass through window opened up the space, allowing it to feel like an open concept but without the added construction of taking down a wall. Allowing the residence to be able to communicate and be a part of what is happening in the next room.

This country style shaker kitchen has been thoughtfully designed to compliment a magnificent and historic Tudor country house in the beautiful south Shropshire countryside. Every requirement of our client was considered during the design process and the results are spectacular. A generous and welcoming oak island is surrounded by soft warm grey cabinetry that has been expertly fitted to the characterful stone walls. A window seat sits below one of the thoughtfully restored windows, making it the perfect place to relax after a stroll in the countryside. A bifold breakfast pantry makes preparing the most important meal of the day a breeze, while the generous Belfast sink sits proudly under another beautifully crafted window. The bespoke chimney breast detail and cabinetry frame the impressive AGA range cooker perfectly.
