Old World European, Country Cottage. Three separate cottages make up this secluded village over looking a private lake in an old German, English, and French stone villa style. Hand scraped arched trusses, wide width random walnut plank flooring, distressed dark stained raised panel cabinetry, and hand carved moldings make these traditional farmhouse cottage buildings look like they have been here for 100s of years. Newly built of old materials, and old traditional building methods, including arched planked doors, leathered stone counter tops, stone entry, wrought iron straps, and metal beam straps. The Lake House is the first, a Tudor style cottage with a slate roof, 2 bedrooms, view filled living room open to the dining area, all overlooking the lake. The Carriage Home fills in when the kids come home to visit, and holds the garage for the whole idyllic village. This cottage features 2 bedrooms with on suite baths, a large open kitchen, and an warm, comfortable and inviting great room. All overlooking the lake. The third structure is the Wheel House, running a real wonderful old water wheel, and features a private suite upstairs, and a work space downstairs. All homes are slightly different in materials and color, including a few with old terra cotta roofing. Project Location: Ojai, California. Project designed by Maraya Interior Design. All custom made cabinetry that was color matched to the entire suite of GE Cafe matte white appliances paired with champagne bronze hardware that coordinates beautifully with the Delta faucet and cabinet / drawer hardware. The counter surfaces are Artic White quartz with custom hand painted clay tiles for the entire range wall with custom floating shelves and backsplash. We used my favorite farrow & ball Babouche 223 (yellow) paint for the island and Sherwin Williams 7036 Accessible Beige on the walls. Hanging over the island is a pair of glazed clay pots that I customized into light pendants. We also replaced the builder grade hollow core back door with a custom designed iron and glass security door. The barstools were a fabulous find on Craigslist that we became mixologists with a selection of transparent stains to come up with the perfect shade of teal and we installed brand new bamboo flooring! This was such a fun project to do, even amidst Covid with all that the pandemic delayed, and a much needed burst of cheer as a daily result.

Take a look at this colorful indoor outdoor runner rug we created for our client. Our client wanted a colorful 2' x 6' runner rug in between the kitchen island and sink. The runner was cut to preferred size and fabricated with a navy binding. Our client and their furry friend "Oscar" simply love the runner!

We took this kitchen down to the studs. Added all new white soft close cabinets, with black hardware. We added white quartz counter tops. We added a wave light blue subway tile. Tile is 3x12. Lastly we added black lantern light fixtures.

You don't have to stick with a single color of cabinet or countertop. In this kitchen, we used a lighter stain on the wall cabinets to contrast with the navy backsplash and island. We also used a lovely, blue-veined quartz for half the counters and a bold, blue-veined granite for the rest.

Another angle of this amazing kitchen. All of the appliances are stainless steel. With a stainless steel hood vent and a stainless steel apron front sink. On the front of the island we added legs and this X detail to give it a custom look. The island color is Sherwin Williams Uncertain Gray.

This piece features three lights with seeded glass shades attached to a single bar. It is suitable farmhouse perfection for Indoor Lighting including Dinning room, Living Room, Kitchen, Loft, Basement, Cafe, Bar, Club, Restaurant, Library and so on.

Another tiny kitchen in a 20's era home needed to be lightened up and the space more user friendly. Bringing the oak flooring from the living room into the kitchen and then on to the back porch gave a more cohesive look. Removing the glass block between rooms, adding a full glass door and painting out the cabinets white made for a pleasing space. A smaller refrigerator was able to get into the kitchen instead of the old one on the back porch! The focal point in this kitchen is the tin ceiling.
