From SinglePoint Design Build: “This project consisted of a full exterior removal and replacement of the siding, windows, doors, and roof. In so, the Architects OXB Studio, re-imagined the look of the home by changing the siding materials, creating privacy for the clients at their front entry, and making the expansive decks more usable. We added some beautiful cedar ceiling cladding on the interior as well as a full home solar with Tesla batteries. The Shou-sugi-ban siding is our favorite detail. While the modern details were extremely important, waterproofing this home was of upmost importance given its proximity to the San Francisco Bay and the winds in this location. We used top of the line waterproofing professionals, consultants, techniques, and materials throughout this project. This project was also unique because the interior of the home was mostly finished so we had to build scaffolding with shrink wrap plastic around the entire 4 story home prior to pulling off all the exterior finishes. We are extremely proud of how this project came out!”

These contemporary accessory dwelling unit plans deliver an indoor-outdoor living space consisting of an open-plan kitchen, dining, living, laundry as also include two bedrooms all contained in 753 square feet. The design also incorporates 452 square feet of alfresco and terrace sun drenched external area are ideally suited to extended family visits or a separate artist’s studio. The size of the accessory dwelling unit plans harmonize with the local authority planning schemes that contain clauses for secondary ancillary dwellings. The Parkland House is located in an existing flood zone, and the spaces under the existing home and extension are at risk of flooding. Finishes throughout have been selected for their flood resilience, and the spaces have been designed with ease of recovery in mind. The permeable timber screens allow breezes to naturally ventilate the undercroft spaces, and in the event of a flood will allow water to freely exit the spaces.

This project is a remodel of and extension to a modest suburban semi detached property. The scheme involved a complete remodel of the existing building, integrating existing spaces with the newly created spaces for living, dining and cooking. A keen cook, an important aspect of the brief was to incorporate a substantial back kitchen to service the main kitchen for entertaining during larger gatherings. Keen to express a clear distinction between the old and the new, with a fondness of industrial details, the client embraced the proposal to expose structural elements and keep to a minimal material palette. Initially daunted by the prospect of substantial home improvement works, yet faced with the dilemma of being unable to find a property that met their needs in a locality in which they wanted to continue to live, Group D's management of the project has enabled the client to remain in an area they love in a home that serves their needs.

Located in the Surrey countryside is this classically styled orangery. Belonging to a client who sought our advice on how they can create an elegant living space, connected to the kitchen. The perfect room for informal entertaining, listen and play music, or read a book and enjoy a peaceful weekend. Previously the home wasn’t very generous on available living space and the flow between rooms was less than ideal; A single lounge to the south side of the property that was a short walk from the kitchen, located on the opposite side of the home.
