Here is a mud bench space that is near the garage entrance that we painted the built-ins and added a textural wallpaper to the backs of the builtins and above and to left and right side walls, making this a more cohesive space that also stands apart from the hallway.

This mudroom was a really fun project. The homeowner wanted to open up two rooms and make one large mudroom. There was some duct work we had to work around, but we hide it successfully. The homeowners have a large family and needed a lot of shoe storage as well as ski boot storage. The cabinetry is knotty alder wood, stained a medium brown with some glaze and distressing.

This client's coat closet became part of a sitting room but had been a few steps too far from the front door anyhow. We designed the entryway to have coat storage in this wardrobe with a bench for putting on shoes and a mirror for last looks.
