Jetton Construction, Inc.This property was transformed from an 1870s YMCA summer camp into an eclectic family home, built to last for generations. Space was made for a growing family by excavating the slope beneath and raising the ceilings above. Every new detail was made to look vintage, retaining the core essence of the site, while state of the art whole house systems ensure that it functions like 21st century home.
This home was featured on the cover of ELLE Décor Magazine in April 2016.

Go To Your RoomVintage gold artwork and a modern gold wall sconce work together to add some refined bling to this organic maximalist 'Rainbow Poppy Meadow' wallpaper by Rebel Walls. Also featured here is a tall white Wayfair cabinet to help with office storage. The vertical height is always welcome in a small space and the space below the cabinet is great for even more storage if needed. The cane feature on the cabinet was received with the original wood, but we added some of the white-wash paint used in the upcycled chairs, to slightly tone down the yellow in the natural wood fibers and allow it blend a bit more cohesively with the office guest chairs (not shown here, but across the room).
Just the ThingBlack walls set off the room's cream furnishings and gold accents. Touches of pink add personality; the pink ceiling medallion adds emphasis to the elegant chandelier. Highlighting the tall windows, black painted frames add graphic interest against the cream sills. Drapery emphasizes the ceiling height while absorbing sound and adding warmth. A huge custom rug unifies the seating and working areas and further contributes to the hushed atmosphere.
In order for this room to feel more like a retreat and less like an office, we used regular furniture pieces in non-standard ways. The client’s heirloom dining table serves as a writing table. A pair of brass and glass consoles holds printer, stationery, and files as well as decorative items. A cream lacquered linen sideboard provides additional storage. A pair of cushy swivel chairs serves multiple functions – facing a loveseat and bench to create a cozy seating area, facing each other for intimate discussions, and facing the desk for more standard business meetings.
Regarding DesignThe juxtaposition of soft texture and feminine details against hard metal and concrete finishes. Elements of floral wallpaper, paper lanterns, and abstract art blend together to create a sense of warmth. Soaring ceilings are anchored by thoughtfully curated and well placed furniture pieces. The perfect home for two.

This office is now a fun and productive place where the clients are happy to work inside. In the client’s words:
“I love working in my new office! I am so much more productive, energetic, creative, and feel like I can take on the day as I walk into work”.

Nar Design GroupMeaning “line” in Swahili, the Mstari Safari Task Lounge itself is accented with clean wooden lines, as well as dramatic contrasts of hammered gold and reflective obsidian desk-drawers. A custom-made industrial, mid-century desk—the room’s focal point—is perfect for centering focus while going over the day’s workload. Behind, a tiger painting ties the African motif together. Contrasting pendant lights illuminate the workspace, permeating the sharp, angular design with more organic forms.
Outside the task lounge, a custom barn door conceals the client’s entry coat closet. A patchwork of Mexican retablos—turn of the century religious relics—celebrate the client’s eclectic style and love of antique cultural art, while a large wrought-iron turned handle and barn door track unify the composition.
A home as tactfully curated as the Mstari deserved a proper entryway. We knew that right as guests entered the home, they needed to be wowed. So rather than opting for a traditional drywall header, we engineered an undulating I-beam that spanned the opening. The I-beam’s spine incorporated steel ribbing, leaving a striking impression of a Gaudiesque spine.
Sarah Montgomery InteriorsThis industrial condo in Roger's Park got a complete overhaul. The layout remained while all finishes, flooring and furniture were upgraded. The tall ceilings and large windows are the focal point of the space and so we kept it light and bright, while mixing textures and finishes to create interest. The client's own eclectic art and object collections pair perfectly with the pops of color in the furniture and accessories. The hand glazed kitchen backsplash tile is the perfect contrast to the white, wood and stainless steel and nods to the changing colors of the lake view across.
Studio 95 InteriorsA complete redesign of what was the guest bedroom to make this into a cosy and stylish home office retreat. The brief was to still use it as a guest bedroom as required and a plush velvet chesterfield style sofabed was included in the design. h

Andrea Schumacher InteriorsThis home office features a blue and orange patterned sofa, and a colorful patterned area rug. The colorful bird wallpaper contrasts with the simple built-in desk and office chair.
Hudson EnvironmentsThe home office featured here serves as a design studio. We went with a rich deep green paint for the walls and for the feature we added this Damask wallpaper. The custom wood work featured, runs the entire span of the space. The cinnamon color stain in on the wood is the perfect compliment to the shades of red and gold found throughout the wallpaper. We couldn't find a conference room that would fit exactly. So we located this light blonde stained dining table, that serves two purposes. The table serves as a desk for daily workspace and as a conference table for client and team meetings.
GM Interior DesignThis is a spare room renovation. My client needed a comfortable and stylish space to work from home, he wanted to reuse some furniture that he already had but also include more to allow storage space.
Go To Your RoomThis home office went from plain walls to a vibrant and feminine home office "girlie" space that helps spark creativity while welcoming all who enter to grab a cozy seat and enjoy the wall mounted vintage finds mixed with current gold and luxurious accents throughout.
