Our clients for this grand mountain lodge wanted the warmth and solidness of timber to contrast many of the contemporary steel, glass and stone architecture more prevalent in the area recently. A desire for timberwork with ‘GRRRR’ equipped to handle the massive snowloads in this location, ensured that the timbers were fit to scale this awe-inspiring 8700sq ft residence. Working with Peter Rose Architecture + Interiors Inc., we came up with unique designs for the timberwork to be highlighted throughout the entire home. The Kettle River crew worked for 2.5 years designing and erecting the timber frame as well as the 2 feature staircases and complex heavy timber mouldings and mantle in the great room. We also coordinated and installed the direct set glazing on the timberwork and the unique Unison lift and slide doors that integrate seamlessly with the timberwork. Huge credit should also be given to the very talented builder on this project - MacDougall Construction & Renovations, it was a pleasure to partner with your team on this project.

This open-air outdoor kitchen space was custom designed into four zones, including a spa terrace and pool, to provide entertainment for any kind of gathering.

We replaced the existing deck and added a larger dining area, with a covered seating group centered on a new outdoor gas fireplace. To expand the seating area, the stairs were relocated to the back side of the fireplace. The stone work on the back of the firebox extends to the ground, and is highlighted by the new stair and accent lighting. Other details include picture framed deck and stairs, indirect post lighting, stained bead board ceiling, and a continuous drink rail.

Aesthetically styled, this outdoor dream is one of our favorites. The classy & modern feel, pairs well with the design of the house. Giving off a spacious feel, the patio provides a great area to grill out in the open, as well as lounge under the open sky! The sleek ledge stone accompanying the porch is done in Kingsford Grey veneer. Furthering the pop of dark colors, we matched the dusky stonework to go well with the well-defined Amazon Mist color of decking. Accented with exposed timber, the ceiling is one of the main focal points as well as the stone columns. With a natural gas fireplace to set the mood, underneath the porch is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the great outdoors no matter the elements!
