Mark and Cindy wanted to update the main level of their home but weren’t sure what their “style” was and where to start. They thought their taste was traditional rustic based on elements already present in the home. They love to entertain and drink wine, and wanted furnishings that would be durable and provide ample seating. The project scope included replacing flooring throughout, updating the fireplace, new furnishings in the living room and foyer, new lighting for the living room and eating area, new paint and window treatments, updating the powder room but keeping the vanity cabinet, updating the stairs in the foyer and accessorizing all rooms. It didn’t take long after working with these clients to discover they were drawn to bolder, more contemporary looks! After selecting this beautiful stain for the wood flooring, we extended the flooring into the living room to create more of an open feel. The stairs have a new handrail, modern balusters and a carpet runner with a subtle but striking pattern. A bench seat and new furnishings added a welcoming touch of glam. A wall of bold geometric tile added the wow factor to the powder room, completed with a contemporary mirror and lighting, sink and faucet, accessories and art. The black ceiling added to the dramatic effect. In the living room two comfy leather sofas surround a large ottoman and modern rug to ground the space, with a black and gold chandelier added to the room to uplift the ambience. New tile fireplace surround, black and gold granite hearth and white mantel create a bold focal point, with artwork and other furnishings to tie in the colors and create a cozy but contemporary room they love to lounge in. This is a very large Country Manor House that Llama Architects & Janey Butler Interiors were asked to completely redesign internally, extend the existing ground floor, install a comprehensive M&E package that included, new boilers, underfloor heating, AC, alarm, cctv and fully integrated Crestron AV System which allows a central control for the complex M&E and security systems. This Phase of this project involved renovating the front part of this large Manor House, which these photographs reflect included the fabulous original front door, entrance hallway, refurbishment of the original staircase, and create a beautiful elegant first floor landing area.

Friends and neighbors of an owner of Four Elements asked for help in redesigning certain elements of the interior of their newer home on the main floor and basement to better reflect their tastes and wants (contemporary on the main floor with a more cozy rustic feel in the basement). They wanted to update the look of their living room, hallway desk area, and stairway to the basement. They also wanted to create a 'Game of Thrones' themed media room, update the look of their entire basement living area, add a scotch bar/seating nook, and create a new gym with a glass wall. New fireplace areas were created upstairs and downstairs with new bulkheads, new tile & brick facades, along with custom cabinets. A beautiful stained shiplap ceiling was added to the living room. Custom wall paneling was installed to areas on the main floor, stairway, and basement. Wood beams and posts were milled & installed downstairs, and a custom castle-styled barn door was created for the entry into the new medieval styled media room. A gym was built with a glass wall facing the basement living area. Floating shelves with accent lighting were installed throughout - check out the scotch tasting nook! The entire home was also repainted with modern but warm colors. This project turned out beautiful!

Internal glazed box leads to staircase to roof terrace. RRA was commissioned to revisit this 1970’s mansion, set within one of Cheltenham’s premiere addresses. The project involved working with our client to open up the space, bringing light into the interior, and to upgrade fittings and finishes throughout including an illuminated stainless-steel and glass helical staircase, a new double-height hallway, an elevated terrace to view stunning landscaped gardens and a superb inside-outside space created via a substantial 8m long sliding glazed screen. This tired 1970’s mansion has been transformed into a stunning contemporary home.
