Betty Wasserman Art & InteriorsOur NYC studio designed this gorgeous condo for a family of four with the goal of maximizing space in a modest amount of square footage. A custom sectional in the living room was created to accommodate the family without feeling overcrowded, while the son's bedroom features a custom Murphy bed to optimize space during the day. To fulfill the daughter's wish for fairy lighting, an entire wall of them was installed behind her bed, casting a beautiful glow at night. In the kitchen, we added plenty of cabinets below the island for maximum efficiency. Storage units were incorporated in the bedroom and living room to house the TV and showcase decorative items. Additionally, the tub in the powder room was removed to create an additional closet for much-needed storage space.

Schmidt Custom BuildersIt's a house so close to the inlet, it appears to float. Skirted by water, this Inlet View home is built for a true waterman. This unique property was originally designed by a local architect–Haywood Newkirk, Sr–who was known for his modernistic renderings. As the neighborhood grew, views of the water were replaced with hindered scenes of bordering homes. To gain privacy, we called on another local architect, artist + surfer–Chip Hemmingway–whose industrial design can be viewed on distinctive properties such as the USS North Carolina Battleship + North Carolina Aquarium’s $26 million Jennette’s Pier facility in Nags Head. It would take another waterman's eye to imagine this space anew. With fresh blueprints, the front door took to a new face of the home + an additional 1500 square feet were appended by Schmidt Custom Builders to create an open-concept out of the old family property. The project began with a total gut. And to the bare structure, came new framing + exterior, all new wiring, roof, windows, flooring, insulation, custom cabinetry, granite countertops, luxurious lighting, furniture + landscaping. We hired on Jo Howell of Big Sky Design who worked with the homeowner to select the final touches to make this space feel like home. Outdoors is perhaps the grandest room of all which can be enjoyed plein air. Custom Ipe screens adorn the outdoor dining pavilion which now configure a private space between neighboring homes. MARGARITA BRAVOOur studio got to work with incredible clients to design this new-build home from the ground up in the gorgeous Castle Pines Village. We wanted to make certain that we showcased the breathtaking views, so we designed the entire space around the vistas. Our inspiration for this home was a mix of modern design and mountain style homes, and we made sure to add natural finishes and textures throughout. The fireplace in the great room is a perfect example of this, as we featured an Italian marble in different finishes and tied it together with an iron mantle. All the finishes, furniture, and material selections were hand-picked–like the 200-pound chandelier in the master bedroom and the hand-made wallpaper in the living room–to accentuate the natural setting of the home as well as to serve as focal design points themselves.

Una atmósfera amplia fue la tónica de este proyecto, en el cual los colores neutrales de las paredes y el techo generen esta sensación, invitando a la concentración y creatividad.
Se eligió esta habitación del hogar con orientación sur, hermosas vistas hacia el oriente y el poniente y una gran entrada de luz natural que permite estar aquí cómodamente durante gran parte del día.
Los cuadros con fotos en Black & White como board de inspiración que les recuerden a sus ocupantes las metas y sueños por las cuales habitan este espacio creando día a día.
