Rodwin Architecture & Skycastle Homes Location: Boulder, Colorado, USA Interior design, space planning and architectural details converge thoughtfully in this transformative project. A 15-year old, 9,000 sf. home with generic interior finishes and odd layout needed bold, modern, fun and highly functional transformation for a large bustling family. To redefine the soul of this home, texture and light were given primary consideration. Elegant contemporary finishes, a warm color palette and dramatic lighting defined modern style throughout. A cascading chandelier by Stone Lighting in the entry makes a strong entry statement. Walls were removed to allow the kitchen/great/dining room to become a vibrant social center. A minimalist design approach is the perfect backdrop for the diverse art collection. Yet, the home is still highly functional for the entire family. We added windows, fireplaces, water features, and extended the home out to an expansive patio and yard. The cavernous beige basement became an entertaining mecca, with a glowing modern wine-room, full bar, media room, arcade, billiards room and professional gym. Bathrooms were all designed with personality and craftsmanship, featuring unique tiles, floating wood vanities and striking lighting. The Chaska 34 Glass fireplace is a perfect way to start your winter months! No more cutting logs, instead you have a contemporary gas fireplace with a glass media. You can pick between five different color beads. The one shown is our "H20" color.

Opposite the red birch wall in this Minnesota interior designed home is a stacked slate fireplace. Floating benches flanking the hearth, accentuates the horizontal line. Minneapolis Interior Designer, Brandi Hagen used natureal materials to add warmth to the space, despite the room’s high, vaulted ceilings. This gallery room design elegantly combines cool color tones with a sleek modern look. The wavy area rug anchors the room with subtle visual textures reminiscent of water. The art in the space makes the room feel much like a museum, while the furniture and accessories will bring in warmth into the room.

The 20 ft. vaulted ceiling in this family room demanded an updated focal point. A new gas fireplace insert with a sleek modern design was the perfect compliment to the 10 ft. wide stacked stone fireplace. The handmade, custom mantel is rustic, yet simple and compliments the marble stacked stone as well as the ebony stained hardwood floors.
