APD was hired to update the kitchen, living room, primary bathroom and bedroom, and laundry room in this suburban townhome. The design brought an aesthetic that incorporated a fresh updated and current take on traditional while remaining timeless and classic. The kitchen layout moved cooking to the exterior wall providing a beautiful range and hood moment. Removing an existing peninsula and re-orienting the island orientation provided a functional floorplan while adding extra storage in the same square footage. A specific design request from the client was bar cabinetry integrated into the stair railing, and we could not be more thrilled with how it came together! The primary bathroom experienced a major overhaul by relocating both the shower and double vanities and removing an un-used soaker tub. The design added linen storage and seated beauty vanity while expanding the shower to a luxurious size. Dimensional tile at the shower accent wall relates to the dimensional tile at the kitchen backsplash without matching the two spaces to each other while tones of cream, taupe, and warm woods with touches of gray are a cohesive thread throughout.

The Design Styles Architecture team worked on this 3 story custom home right off the water in Indian Rocks Beach Florida. The spaces were designed to highlight and take advantage of the views afforded by Indian Rocks and the 3 story heights. This 3600 SF home has 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths. The first level of the home has a two car garage and outdoor covered patio adjacent to the pool and paved outdoor patio. The second story of the home features the main living space with an open concept great room, dining, and kitchen all looking out onto the covered lanai and the water. We used a unique worm hole,solid wood flooring to add character to this kitchen, which matches well with the natural colored wood cabinets.

The kitchen was in nice condition therefore we agreed with our clients to retain the cabinets, countertops, backsplashes and appliances. We did however replace all cabinet hardware and opted for a new contemporary faucet. More importantly, we felt the kitchen wasn’t visually anchored. With as much open space, the island seemed to be floating. We added four glass pendant lights to balance out the openness of the kitchen and procured high-back stools which also act as an anchor. We chose a fabric which compliments the dining room chairs and the living room sofa.
