This three-story Westhampton Beach home designed for family get-togethers features a large entry and open-plan kitchen, dining, and living room. The kitchen was gut-renovated to merge seamlessly with the living room. For worry-free entertaining and clean-up, we used lots of performance fabrics and refinished the existing hardwood floors with a custom greige stain. A palette of blues, creams, and grays, with a touch of yellow, is complemented by natural materials like wicker and wood. Here’s a solution for tilt-in windows: These shutters showcase an outside mounted frame—mounted on the wall around the window so the windows can tilt in for cleaning.

You have to love the fine stripe on this tan and white sectional that is neutral but also exudes great character. We love sectionals for spaces like this because they provide lots of extra seating, but also feel lounge-worthy when it's just you at home. Custom-made throw pillows pull in that bright turquoise we love, and the sheer window panels we had made for the space allow for light to filter in while acting as a soft pairing to all the wood accents.

This family room was updated with a custom media built-in to store kids toys and keep the media organized. The walls were painted Benjamin Moore Balboa Mist, and white cabinets received matte black hardware and coastal rope sconces. Custom cushions were added to serve as a reading nook for the kids (but mostly, the dog sleeps there). Driftwood, succulents and air plants give texture and add life to this space. Light oak shelves are styled with beachy decor.
