Let me start by saying, I love, love, love, Haus Interior Design. Thanks so much for capturing my vision and bringing my ordinary space to a level of brilliance! Every detail looks absolutely amazing.

Kirsten and her team are fabulous to work with. We needed to redo a family room that hadn't been touched in 20+ years. I was not looking forward to the process. But then we met and hired Kirsten. She came up with a design plan that was exactly what we needed, with special attention to lighting, which had become completely inadequate for our aging eyes. She and her colleague Becky designed a wall of bookshelves that is absolutely stunning. We love the results, guests have gushed about the room, and our whole family now uses the room together (even if engaged in parallel play!). Kirsten completely understands and works with budgetary concerns, and indeed, saved us from grossly overspending on an item that we had chosen on our own. Special shout-out to Kirsten's colleague Mary, who never failed to send us a very helpful weekly update (and graciously came to my son's rescue when he damaged an item of furniture before I'd even seen it!). The entire team is professional, rcreative, esponsive, reliable, and delightful.

Kirsten and her team are so talented, creative, and on top of their game! They redesigned our first level, including a complete remodel/expansion of our kitchen, dining room, family room, new mudroom, and screened porch. My husband and I approached Haus thinking we knew exactly what we wanted for a lot of things, but Kirsten and Becky steered us toward many more tasteful and functional ideas. They perfectly blend attention to detail with big-picture planning to create beautiful designs that we're thrilled with. I love working with Kirsten and Becky because they don't just agree with everything we think we want - they tactfully show us other potential ideas. And when we're sure we want something "our way," they find a way to make it work beautifully. They're also super responsive and keep us on track throughout the process. There are so many beautiful, functional details we would have missed out on without Kirsten's expertise and great taste. Kirsten also referred us to our architect and kitchen cabinet designer, who have helped us improve our plans in those areas too. We can't wait to execute on the plans with Haus!

Kirsten and her team helped us in planning and executing the renovations and decorating of our condo in DC’s West End. We couldn’t be happier with the process and the results. They transformed the condo into a beautiful and special space that works very comfortably to meet our living and entertaining desires. Working with Kirsten was an absolute pleasure. She is an excellent listener and was incredibly patient in dealing with our anxieties and ambivalences about the many decisions. She was personable and maintained a great sense of humor throughout. Kirsten, Becky and Mary of Haus Interior Design are amazing and a pleasure to work with. We have been working with this talented team for the past 6 years and they have transformed our house into our dream home. “Team Haus”, as I like to refer to them, take your ideas and visions and transform them into beautiful and functional spaces to live and entertain guests. Like many others, my husband and I embarked on a house refresh during the COVID lockdown. Despite my passion for design and the endless hours spent looking at pretty pictures, I knew I needed design help to re-decorate our breakfast and family rooms. Since this was my first time selecting and hiring a designer, I started pouring over online portfolios. Kristen's portfolio made my heart sing as I saw rooms with the feeling and style I was after but could not articulate. Kristin quickly responded to my inquiry and won me over on our first visit. Her energy, enthusiasm, and practicality were just the start. Her ability to visualize the possibilities and gently nudge us out of our comfort zone led to wonderful selections for both rooms. Kirsten and her senior designer, Becky, graciously indulged my desire to learn more about design decisions throughout the process. Kristen, Becky, and Mary worked together seamlessly to manage the many details, and I would highly recommend Haus Interior Design.

Kirsten understood our vision and delivered flawlessly. She has impeccable taste and a discerning eye for color and pattern but above all else she made the process FUN! Even my design skeptic husband is giddy with the results (and is eager to mix a drink or two at his gorgeous new bar). Her enthusiasm is palpable, her professionalism and responsiveness make it easy to do business with her, but I believe it's her attention to the finer details that truly sets her apart. Kirsten is a pro's pro and knows how to bring unique products, color and design elements together with her valuable guidance and turn a house in to a (beautiful and functional) home. I'd never consider anyone else for my next project!

We recently moved from a two bedroom condo to a 6 bedroom single family home and we would have been lost without Kirsten and her team. Kirsten and her team, and extended team of consultants and contractors, was amazing to work with. Starting with Kirsten's eye for design all the way through fabrication and installation - every step of the process was easy. We relied on Kirsten for contractor recommendations as well - from window treatment installations to painting and new floors, everyone Kristen recommended, and worked with, was professional and delivered fantastic results. Kirsten's recommendations, always being respectful of budget guidelines, were always spot on. She selected colors, textures, and iconic furniture pieces to make each room look unique and comfortable all at the same time. It is difficult to pick my "favorite" room as we love them all. What a fantastic experience working with Haus Interior Design!

Haus Interior Design is a find! Kirsten and Sarah are delightful to work with—the perfect blend of professional and familiar. Kirsten helped us reimagine our very non-descript mid-century modern entry, living and dining areas into a cozy, cohesive space, complete with beautiful storage solutions and lovely and very comfortable furnishings. Kirsten and Sarah helped us streamline the decision making process on every aspect of the project and managed every aspect of the installation. I was hoping that I’d be able to finally say we liked our living space after more than a dozen years in our home. Haus helped us love it! Looking forward to working with Kirsten and Sarah on other projects.

To put it simply, we could NOT have achieved our vision for our new house without Kirsten and her team. Thankfully, we found Kirsten and Sarah before we finalized our plans and broke ground. As it turns out, that was our best move! They were integral partners throughout the design and build process of our custom home. Their superb attention to detail, vast network of suppliers and incredible understanding and eye for our vision made the difference. We couldn't be any happier with how our home turned-out, both inside and out. And we couldn't have done it without Haus Interior Design! To give you a sense for the enormity of the project, we doubled the size of our previous house and radically changed our style, which means most of the furnishings and interior design elements from our previous house were not going to work in the new house. However, Kirsten methodically catalogued what we had versus what we needed and presented us with multiple proposals for all areas of the house. We were smart enough to hire Kirsten to help us design, furnish and remodel our 1880's farmhouse. This was an enormous project that she greeted with excitement and enthusiasm. She started by listening closely and helped us organize a vision for our new home. Kirsten understood that there was a budget and helped us balance where to splurge and where less expensive choices were still great design choices. In several cases, the less expensive options ended up being some of our absolute favorite choices. She worked tirelessly on many details and pulled together the whole house in a short amount of time. I would recommend Kirsten to anyone that wants to work with a a super talented designer with integrity and a good sense of humor. Kirsten, coordinated my kitchen perfectly with the rest of my house. She had fabulous design ideas. She streamlined the decision-making process and communicated regularly with the contractor and kitchen designer which saved me a lot of time. She kept everyone on task and on time. Working with her was easy and fun.

Kirsten has an incredible sensibility and really hones in on her client's aesthetic preferences. She is patient, thoughtful and knowledgeable. Her vision is extraordinary and she has exceeded our expectations repeatedly. We have done multiple projects together and she is #1 on our speed dial when it comes to any design questions.

I worked with Kirsten and Haus Interior Design on my total kitchen remodel, and am SO happy I did. I had already selected my cabinets and thought I knew what I wanted for backsplash and countertops (thought I knew it all!), but was questioning whether I was making the right decisions and thought I needed some professional guidance before I went any further in my selections. Boy was that the right decision! She came up with some gorgeous ideas for interspersing dark and lighter cabinetry - which no one else had thought of in hours and hours of discussions - making the kitchen totally stand out from standard designs. The lighting selections were perfect, pulling together materials, color and style from throughout the entire kitchen. She presented me with several options for the rest of the finishes as well as furniture (new kitchen table), which crossed the spectrum as far as price was concerned. She also met my very stringent requirement that the finish on the kitchen table not be easily ruined through day to day family use, as well as fit our space and current (oversized!) kitchen chairs. She was able to read my preferences and budget needs and guide my decisionmaking so that we came up with a beautiful result. Our kitchen is not only stylish and functional, but she was able to guide us so our selections would be somewhat timeless and not outdated in five years. In addition to all of that, she is both the consummate professional and a lovely person to work with. Highly recommend.

Kirsten is a fabulously talented designer. Her diverse designs work for clients with a range of tastes and ideas. Working with Kirsten Kaplan has been nothing short of fun and easy! Kirsten has an amazing design sense and vision; her creativity, and breadth and depth of experience has kept us from making many design mistakes and has helped us create amazing spaces within our home. She is accessible, friendly, enthusiastic, encouraging, and realistic. Kirsten recently helped us give our kitchen a much needed face lift: refinishing existing cabinets, changing out the center island counter material, adding a gorgeous honed marble subway tile backsplash, selecting a beautiful dark gray paint color, and adding new cabinet hardware, lighting, window treatments, seeded glass inserts in cabinets, and a new table and chairs. Kirsten took time to understand our tastes and wants, and worked to satisfy those, while also challenging us when needed, making us aware of other options we did not even know existed, often pushing us slightly out of our comfort zone, all while being budget conscious. The end result is a kitchen that we LOVE in every way! Kirsten also helped us renovate our very dated laundry room, which also serves as a home office. It is the perfect space for us now, balancing beauty and function. Kirsten is currently helping us redecorate our basement. Special treatments like grass cloth and stone walls make the space warm and inviting. It seems with little effort, Kirsten pulls many different pieces together to make the perfect space.

We hired Kirsten to help us make various selections while building a new house. She was instrumental and invaluable with suggestions and narrowing choices down for us. She is a decision maker and can see the big picture in order to pull together one room and an entire home from ground up! She is very knowledgable in all areas of design and I trust her 100%. She is excellent about helping to stay within a budget and accommodating your likes/dislikes. Kirsten is flexible, dependable and easy for anyone to get along with. She helped us design our bathrooms, kitchen, flooring, exterior (tile, cabinets, hardware, lighting, appliances, marble, paint colors), in addition to interior furnishings (rugs, furniture, artwork, window treatments). Haus Interior Design is amazing! Remodeling is a stressful process but Kirsten Kaplan kept us sane! Not only does she have an amazing eye for design detail, but she worked extremely well with our subcontractors making sure our remodel timeline and expectations were met. We did a full kitchen renovation and Kirsten was instrumental in helping us choose everything from the hardwood floors to the cabinet hardware. Not only was she able to find us some amazing grasscloth for a fabulous focal wall, she knew the right people to call for a flawless install. The result is one amazing kitchen!
