PERSONALLY I really like everything above the furniture level.
HIDEOUS...but I like the ceiling treatment. (This does not illustrate the breaking up areas thing though)
This is where Jackie and I are 180 degrees opposed. Aside from the furniture, I love this.
If we HAD to go modern...this ain't too bad. I don't like the excessive glass (it looks good, but living with/in it is another matter.
Although this doesn't break up the space at all....the beams are nice.
This is what I want to avoid. Too simple...ceiling is too big..it's like a TV soundstage. More height would make this even worse.
These are HIDEOUS....in execution. But notice that the areas of what is actually one big room feel quite different. That's what I'm getting at.
