This is what we mean by the "Hope windows style" combined with masonry, albeit this is an outside image. We want to replicate this palette (plus clear glass in the staircase and wood where needed) on the interior, especially in the rear staircase.
Q
写真
LOVE: extending the exposed brick from the staircase into part of the kitchen. Look at how the exposed brick has a way of bridging between the modern island and vintage beams. The Hope style window with black frames is also a great bridging element.

another example of virtual riser with metal bar; again, we seek something more invisible for dog and baby safety
WISH: the exposed glass edges were framed in black metal instead, like a Hope window
Q
写真
LIKE: exposed brick with glass elements combined, and we note it is possible white painted masonry could work in our setting, though our instinct is to stick to natural brick color
Q
写真
an example of virtual riser with a horizontal bar; we would prefer thinner guage wire that is invisible from this distance
Q
写真
LIKE: transparent glass with exaggerated vertigo effect, metal frame around steps, cantilevered stairs
WISH: glass panels were a bit thicker, and need thin wire virtual riser for dog and baby safety
Q
写真
an example of what we do NOT want; using the same shade of glass for both stair and riser does not work in our opinion
Q
写真
an example of virtual risers with metal rod; however we prefer an implementation that is much thinner wire and more transparent
Q
写真
LOVE: glass floor panel beside stairway; consider this kind of feature on fourth floor by stair opening
Q
写真
LIKE: mix of masonry, glass steps, dark metal frame stairs, wood floor
WISH: glass steps were clear instead of blue
Q

LIKE: transparent glass with exaggerated vertigo effect, metal frames around stairs, cantilevered stairs
Q
写真
LIKE: fully transparent glass steps that exaggerate the vertigo effect and dark black metal stair frame and dark black metal window frame
Q
写真
LIKE: exposed brick mixed with transparent glass steps mixed with metal frame staircase
Q
写真
LIKE: transparency of cables (consider cables for virtual risers and possibly inner support column of staircase), exposed brick
AVOID: a bit too corporate feeling
