NEVILLE RENOVATION
Details by room:
(example)Guest Bath- countertop, wall paper, shower curtain...
I have set up a preliminary idea book which can serve as a place to communicate. This will help me to understand your style, what you would like to see in your future home.
I have saved a photo to start as an example, but generally, when you save an image indicate what things you specifically like about said image, even if it's that you would like to see an element pictured in a different part of the house (for example, stone flooring from a photo of a patio that you would love in your entry).
Please start your comments with your initials so we know who likes what (mine are KL'E) and location in project.
BN general decor: I don't personally like the pendant but feel it works in the room. Really like the furniture, and how the rug ends up being the source of color and energy, with the cactus providing another burst to keep it from being too subdued. Don't have a strong feeling about the artwork, but I also have trouble imagining the room without it, so it must be doing something here. JN: don't love rug -- prefer more primary colors/more modern style; room feels a little stark -- art work change might help
BN general decor: I like how the alternating chair colors add enough to this otherwise pretty staid design to make it seem lively or playful. Likewise I like the alternating heights of the pendants, it's another lightly playful touch that brings the room alive. I also like how the radiators match the grey chairs, and then that most everything else is blond wood or white walls.
BN general decor: I really like this... might still be a few too many elements for my taste. Perhaps only one piece of art on the wall, and having either the floating shelves or the plant near it, but not both. But really like it overall, especially the lamp and rug. Maybe I wouldn't have wanted the floor and the chairs to be such a similar shade
BN kitchen: I like this kitchen quite a bit, specifically the mix of cupboards and open shelves (it brings a little bit of order or balance to the activity of the shelves), and I like the wood against the white tile. Given my preference for open shelves, where the plates and so forth will provide the color and energy, makes sense that the rest of the kitchen should be pretty neutral. JN; love this too for reasons said just would change hardware don't like black
BN bathroom: So here are the darker stone/cement walls, which kind of captures what I was talking about with the dark slate, etc. I also like the wood cabinet under the sink. Not sure on the sink itself. I think I like it but I feel like this style is maybe trendy and may look dated at some point? Or is that basically true of everything? JN: need to lighten up somehow -- feels dark
BN, bathroom: I like the wood slats for the floor of the shower. Not sure if I like the slate floor... I like the idea of it but it may be a little dark. On the other hand, I do like the idea of a slate-lined walk-in shower... something about the dark, wet stone along with the direct sunlight from the window... JN; prefer brighter lighter vanity top/wood cabinent
JN: Family room - like white walls but I would add some art; like blue/red pops of color; love use of plants for green/nature; do not like black lampmcolor but do like lamp; the rug is an interesting pattern
JN: Family room - like use of pops of blue/yellow and that green of outside comes through as 3rd color; couch is too cold/looks uncomfortable; rug is too retro/groovy
JN: Master Bath -like the high windows, the white shower with built ins, blue floor is interesting, do not like wooden cabinets or 2 sinks
BN: Master Bedroom -I like this room quite a bit more than I'd expect. I like all the white, reflected in the different textures (blanket on the bed, for example). I like the pops of orange and the other colors on the daybed pillows (though I think there are too many colors). I'd probably vote for fewer framed pieces on the walls. I like the way the natural fibers are repeated throughout the room (though I hate the pendant light).
BN: Master Bedroom - I like the furniture and the blue bedspread. I find the headboard distracting, but it does seem to be creating some more interest or energy in the room. I like the plant and the side table. I think there's too much artwork on the wall for my taste at this point.
BN: Family room - I basically like the sideboard, and the artwork above it. I like the neutral wall color. I think there's too much midcentury stage dressing around, from the chairs to the bric a brac on the sideboard. I do like the orange lamp.
BN - Family Room I like the generally uncluttered and clean look. Part of it might be the photography, there's a luminosity that's appealing and tranquil. I like the plant very much, the green really pops agains the otherwise muted colors. I don't like the cubes. I think overall it might be missing a 1-2 more interesting or arresting elements. The stuff on the coffee table just seems like stuff, fairly bland and undifferentiated. Maybe too bland? But I'd probably be comfortable in a room like this.
BN: I like the different textures/materials (concrete pillar with wood floor and paneling, cowhide rug). I like the use of color (different shades of blue, and then just natural materials). I probably wouldn't want much else going on in this room, though. If the full room had more things of this sort in it I might find it overwhelming.
KL'E- Where: guest bath, what: I love the mixed monochrome graphic patterns in different scales with the vintage plumbing fixtures
Cabinets w/routered integral handle
