could do longer drapes and put rod above transom so that when they are closed transom is covered and you wont need to buy something for transom separately to block the light. similar to what you had in your master, which I know you did not like but wanted to give you options and Shauns window is so different....much wider and not as tall.
Notice these drape panels are just panels....do not go all the way across. This could work nicely in Shauns room....picture this: hang the rods at the height of the top of the transom, the drape panels would just be decorative but would square off the window a bit, making the transom not stick up so much. This would only work if you dont need something room darkening on windows. You could still pit a blind or shade in transom. these panels would basically "frame" his window and make it more square and fill that tall wall. Notice also the two tone panels
