Coffeen Residence
Living - Like the overhanging roof with wood paneling.
Living - We like the feel of it. It's clean and light.
Living - We would like to have a "library" space in our house. We like that this is a corner built-in, and that the shelves are different lengths. It's a little more interesting than the usual built-in wall bookcase.
Library idea: Like that it’s a corner and has a ladder
Library: Like the shelves and step ladder
Library idea: Like the idea of having library corner that’s a different level (but may not work with size of our house?)
Ignore the surroundings. This is just to say I have a baby grand piano, and I want to make sure there is space for it in the living room somewhere.
Staircase- Like the staircase style and wood wall. Maybe too much wood with the ceiling and wall together? Also probably want lighter color of wood.
Idea for main staircase. Could use it to help delineate spaces, and if some or all of the railings could be seen through like this, it would still feel open.
Another idea for the stairs.
Open floor plan: We don't particularly like this open floor plan. This photo is just to say that we would like the kitchen, dining room, and living room to be an open-plan and for each space to be defined but cohesive, and for the whole thing not to look cluttered. To be honest, I can't clearly picture how it should look. (Kendra here.)
Master - Potentially like idea of being able to access master bath from other rooms, though would want it to be kind of hidden (perhaps via the laundry room) so people wouldn't think it was the main restroom. This would also be a back exit/access to the master suite, which would provide the same benefit as having an exit via the closet.
Master - Like idea of being able to leave the room via the closet because one of us often gets up earlier than the other and this would minimize the disturbance.
Like this blending transition between different types of flooring rather than traditional straight line with some sort of transition strip. Do not like the colors of the flooring pictured; just the concept.
Master - Like the windows and the touch of wood at the top.
Master - Like the black beams with wood ceiling and roof that hangs out.
Master - Like the straight lines, wood on the back, white walls. I don't think we'd want a deck out our master bedroom.
Flooring: Like this type of cork flooring that looks more like wood grain.
Master bath. We like having the tub and shower share a space. Will want built-ins in the shower.
Master bath. Another way that might utilize space better.
Master bath. Like the flooring and shower wall.
Kitchen - Maybe too much wood for my taste, but I like the light, airy feeling in the room. We would like a kitchen island, and it makes sense to add some seating to the island.
Kitchen - Like the color of the cupboards + white, but I would add more cupboards above the counter (maybe white cupboards?)
Kitchen - Like the island with the white counter and blue underneath. Like overall feel of kitchen. Would definitely need cupboards added, though.
Kitchen - Like windows and color below counter.
Kitchen - Like the natural lighting and the flat cupboard surfaces.
Kitchen - What I like: wood paneling section of the ceiling, mix of white and gray cupboards, island with sink and seating. Don't like: backsplash design, waterfall island counter
Kitchen island: one other thought I had is making a curved kitchen island. With so many lines in our house being square and rectangle, a curve might be interesting. But I haven't seen a "look" that I absolutely love yet.
Office: Like the efficient use of space, would perhaps want pull-out bed option. Office does not need to be large.
Laundry+Pantry: We will need some sort of pantry for A LOT of food storage. I like the idea of combining it with the laundry room.
Laundry room: Here's what I'm looking for in a laundry room. A good amount of cabinets, a utility sink, a pole to hang clothes on, and space for stacking washer/dryer.
Patio: something simple like this, where our roof could extend or the upper level could be the roof for the patio.
Would like some sort of simple outdoor shower scenario.
Like slate floor and shower wall, with white quartz shower tray.
