1860 Kitchen refinements
PS: Different pantry concept?
Not sure if we'll need this kind of storage, but it would be handy for heavy things.
I like the color of this granite.
Something like this will help with counter clutter.
Trays and cookie sheets above the ovens. And maybe under...
Not a bad looking hood... how high the chimney?
Not bad, a basic chimney... again, how does it look naked?
The oak pantry on right is attractive.
It's the alabaster shade that appeals... I think the shape would go well with the dome light.
Our current feeding station. Could go at the west end of the island.
This seems unnecessarily complicated, but it's a reminder to make room somewhere in the kitchen. I'm thinking maybe the end (west) of the island.
We need a broom closet. And the central vac system is back on the table...
This looks like a good combo under the cooktop. Drawers would work also.
A tip for old folks: round the edges!

A strong candidate for spice management.
The little shelf behind the sink (what would be our wall on the lining room side) is a really good idea. (I'm thinking a red sink won't look so hot with the gold countertop I'm pretty sure I want.)
Red, red, red!
This would work -- TV above the fridge -- straight line from our table. 36 in. fridge, 36 in. TV. With the dome light in our nook we really don't need any decorative lights over the island, and you can provide enough utility lighting from the ceiling, surely. We're psyched!
Angled TV yet.
We are thinking everyday plates and bowls will go nicely in the drawers between the sink and fridge area. Pegs are good for smaller dishes, but we would like to have a drawer deep enough to store plates on their sides. Searching...
This is the general idea for plates, but it we'd prefer racks we could lift out to making cleaning up the inevitable crumbs easier.
Probably a better size drawer for dish storage.
We need to get our bar area back. It would work well next to the refrigerator (so it's modified tall storage), with a place for glassware in cupboards, and a wood (butcher block?) counter. (Citrus juice and granite do not do well together, we have learned.) We think one deep drawer as above, plus 2 shallow for bar tools, etc.
