Windswept Pool Ideas
I like that there is a covered area but that it still feels open
not right for us, but just WOW
steps don't take up much space
i like how the edge of the seating area goes right up to become the edge of the pool
like the color of the water
probably need at least a little bit of a platform around edge
love the plants and stone softening the edges; would want the water to be more natural/green in color
shallow stairs make ascent/descent easier on older knees
combination of green and purple foliage is nice
love plants in the water, but how do you keep the water clean?
not too large, which is nice
would like to use less roses, more grasses on pond/pool surround
partial infinity edge? could be interesting, but I think grasses and foliage more private/effective in long run, especially in winter...
stone wall framing
i like the 'chair shelf' in the water where you could just get your feet wet
water seats are intriguing depending on location relation to covered chaise lounge 'Balinese' area
chairs in waterfall on left are nice, but the wrong style chairs for comfort...
lovely & organic feeling, but without chlorine, will the snakes camp out in pool??
like how the pool feels integrated with the home
like how the covered sitting area abuts the edge of pool
like the green color of the water...
like the possible idea of two chairs in the water abutting pool ledge IF that ledge was connected to fire pit area!! That could be cool...
love the ease of getting into pool here, but think too much organic debris would also just blow into the pool instead of being stopped by ledge??
love the tree leaning over the pool and the creation of both sunny & shady areas...
really like the 'shallow platform' area...also great for when little grandkids come to visit
don't think we'd need this many stone stairs, but like the shallow nature of the steps so easier on hips & knees as we age
like the idea of architectural element/planter projecting into pool space and feeling of part of the pool closely edged/framed by greenery - not flowers that would die off into pool, but grasses that move with the wind
don't like the sharp edges, but creating an area in back of pond that feels swallowed by nature is interesting...
warm lighting at night
sunken firepit is just too cool for school!! But not sure that works for us unless at back edge of pool and that would just put us closer to neighbors down the hill
i kind of like how a softly covered chaise lounge area like above left in photo, which could come right out of the Fireplace Room by the sliding doors/game table area...
love idea of adding this shallower entry area to pool as both a place to get your feet wet/lay in a few inches of water and provide an easy terraced entry into the existing pond/pool space
though these rocks look a bit fake, a pretty boulder in the to-be-created/added shallow area of the pond/pool could feel very organic
similar to another chaise lounge platform area I like, where you could just roll over into the water if you wanted...I like the idea of abutting/projecting the lounge space into the pool
living roof over chaise lounge area? lovely, but not sure that buys us anything visually in a one story house. If we had a 2nd story and would be looking down on that, it would make more sense, so probably not applicable here
love the use of stone and wood in background
sweet Balinese covered chaise/bed area...romantic BUT platform holding actual bed might have to be higher so as to be easier to raise up off of as we age
love the grasses to soften edging
both jacuzzi and greenery near edge...could one of those be a sunken fire pit?
