Like the varied distances for boots, then sandals.then shoes. We are trying to build something similar.Very good use of space and such a beautiful walk-in closet.
I know Lisa will answer this question, but my answer is generally about 4" for sandals, 6" to 10" for most shoes and measure the tallest boots for the boot section. Some women have a lot of very high heels, many do not. Men do not like tight shelves and I give about 6" for their shoes.
