I'm redoing my kitchen and want to have an island to seat 6 - 8 people, perhaps 4 on the face away from the work area and two on each end. Also, what is the minimum recommended distance away from work areas/counters and island cabinets that will have no people seated (opposite the 4 seats) and the distance away from work areas/counters for seating (perhaps the ends of the island. One end will be close to the other leg of the "L" shaped counter areas.
