We had our condo flooded and had to replace hardwood floors (beech - and maple) everywhere in the house. Being under a lot of stress we were really not smart and did not think through the design of the floors trying to make them looks as before. (It was beech and maple) and to keep parts of the floors if they appeared dry. We ended up with light oak in all rooms , old marble tile in the foyer area and kitchen still does not have the floor as we did not want to put hardwood there and do not know what to do there. Now we can see that we need to replace the marble in foyer area as it is on different level and looks chipped and old. We do not know what to put there too. We have budget to repair and we wish we picked right wood from the beginning and put wood throughout our place. The oak floor (Reward flooring Europe collection) turned out not what we expected, easily scratched and we do not think it matches the kitchen . Could you have a look and give us ideas what could we do in foyer and kitchen ? Thank you

Aside from the easily scratched problem, I would put the wood everywhere. Continuous flooring is appropriate. I am guessing you are tackling this yourself?

Floor leveler will solve your uneven floor issues. Do it right from the start.

You've got alot of Beige going on.

Are you trying to match everything? a little contrast brings interest.

you can add color in area rugs that can protect the vulnerable spots.

Thank you! Our problem is merging existing hardwood and the new area, we have the material but we do not like having transition area. The original installer says that it can't be done without visible transition. We are not trying to match, we just do not have confidence in figuring out good color schemas and having everything neutral helps. We also do not have much natural light in the condo and feel darker colors can make space look even darker

Thank you! Do you think having matte finish throughout the rooms and satin finish in the kitchen of the same floor will work together ? we are replacing floors due to flooding, not remodeling and looking for the solution in the kitchen / foyer areas to work with our existing hardwood and furniture
