What is appropriate size of fixture over a table that is 42 "diameter?

The Louis Poulsen light fixture comes in a large and mini version. I am not sure which one to get . My kitchen is open to the dining room area ,

Hello Susan. This fixture only comes in one size and the diameter of the largest shade is approximately 13".

You should get a fixture which illuminates the entire table-top and hangs centered over the table. The fixture should be hung about 7’ above the floor. The fixture you show is in the wrong position and only shines on the tabletop if the table is crammed into the corner.
