Congrats on your new home! I agree that if you get the right gray it will compliment nicely. Get some samples to try first and sit with it awhile.

Mary, it's really good that you like green and gray. For me, a sage green is one of the better choices with red roofs.

I like all of these combinations, but I think the last picture would be my inspiration because of the white railings and trim against the dark charcoal siding. A simple combination which will work with your roof color.

A gray like this with yellow on the front door and white on the trim and secondary doors would look great.
