I am glad you like these old original stairs from 1894. It took some doing cleaning them up. The blue finish was a furniture paint by tikkurila and the darkish stain is a hard wax by Treatex (antique oak I think?). I got a load of testers for free and patch tested them. I would always use a hardwax for stairs if you are looking for hardwearing and natural. Osmo also do a great range of finishes.
