is the main floor concrete with the tile inset?

How was the tile set into the main body of the floor? Was the surround poured after the tile was set?
Could simple depressions be made in a concrete floor as it was being poured to accommodate the tile "rug" to be set after curing?

Hello. The tiles were set first. They are concrete tiles by Zelart, like the traditional "hidráulicos" tiles used in this period buildings, but with an updated geometrical design. The continuous floor it's a SuperTop by Mapei, that's been poured after the tiles were set in place. We don't know if it could be done the other way, sounds very complicated to implement. We hope this clarifies your doubts.

Thank you for your answer. I have seen a number of floor designs where the tiles seem to be inset into concrete and also wood floors with no sill dividing them. I hope to find out how this is done.
