Living room rug

I need help picking out the best area rug for my new living room. I am including a picture however the walls are now a different color. We painted it Sandstorm by Valspar. It has a brick fireplace with dark ceramic floors, wood trim and is roughly 16 X 22 ft in size with vaulted ceilings. My couches are tan microfiber but I plan to get new ( darker) ones in about a year.

I tried but the options are way too many, you need to give some directions as to what color directions and/or style you are heading.

多分見た感じでイタリアでヒットされたのであればベネチアンスタッコ（漆喰）下地に塗装で仕上げたものだと思います。壁面と床の際にグレー色の部分がありますので、グレーは漆喰の下地でしょう。イタリアでは多い仕上げで、この様な仕上げの住居を何件か見た事あります。

天井についている蛍光灯をシャンデリアに変更する場合

天井にぴったり付いている蛍光灯ですね。3つのことを考えなければなりません。 ①電源の供給は「直結」か、「引っ掛けシーリング」か ②天井にどのように止まっているのか ③蛍光灯を外した時に天井に跡が残らないかどうかまずは①から。これがわからないということですよね。可能であれば、写真を載せてください。器具を見てわかる範囲でお答えできるかと思います。さて、「直結」というのは、天井から出ている電線に照明器具の電線を直接つないでいる状態をいいます。このような場合には、電気工事士の資格のある人だけが照明器具の交換ができます。ご自身で工事することはできませんのでお近くの電気工事店に依頼をしてくださいね。「引っ掛けシーリング」であれば、何らかの方法で器具を外すことができるはずです。照明器具の品番がどこかに載っていませんか。あまり古くないものなら、メーカーのサイトで取扱説明書がダウンロードできる場合もあります。「引っ掛けシーリング」のほかに、「引っ掛けローゼット」という種類のものもあります。これは、引っ掛けシーリングのような丸い樹脂製の本体に金具がついていて、そこに照明器具をはめ込んで固定ができるタイプの物です。シャンデリアも商品や重量によっては、引っ掛けローゼットでないと取り付けられないこともあります。安全のためにもよく確認してから取り付けしてくださいね。次に、②です。直結の場合、照明器具によっては天井面にネジで止めているような場合もあります。この場合、ネジを外すと天井に穴が開きますので補修をしなければなりません。「引っ掛けシーリング」や「引っ掛けローゼット」でついている場合には、天井には止めていない器具だと思います。 ③です。引っ掛けシーリングで照明器具がついていても、天井にぴったりしている場合には照明器具の跡が黒くなっていることが多いです。壁紙の貼り替えや塗装なども視野に入れなければならないかもしれません。シャンデリアならば、シーリングメダリオンを付けて天井の汚れをかくしてしまうのも素敵ですね。軽量な物なら、ボンドと細い釘でご自分でも取り付け可能だと思います。メダリオンなど、室内装飾材料の大手のメーカーとしては「みはし」が有名です。一般の方がインターネットで購入できる商品とプロでないと購入できない商品が分かれていますので、ネットショップのアドレスを付けておきますね。

私もまさに今、新居のプランニングをしております！取り急ぎ、ソファだけは早めに欲しくて、グレーのソファーを購入してみたのですが、照明はこだわりたくてまだ決められていないんです。私はこういう照明にしてみたいなぁと思っています。（グリーンの照明は、Houzzのオフィスにもある照明なんです♪）あとやりたいのは、壁1面だけグレーか淡いブルーの壁紙にしてみたいと思っています。カーテンは、木製のブラインドにしたいなと思ったのですが、うちの場合は備え付けのものが付いていて、ちょっと断念しようかなと思っています付け替えると既存のカーテンの保管場所を見つけなくちゃいけないので^^; Chisaさんのお宅は、確かに下の部分の窓が素敵なので是非活かしたいですね！！！プロの方のアドバイス、私も聞いてみたいです！

株式会社ヒロデザインスタジオ様、貴重なアドバイスありがとうございました！和紙がユネスコ文化遺産にも登録されていたとは知らなかったです。以前スペインの小さな村に行ったときにわざわざ日本から和紙を輸入されて壁紙として使われている画廊がありました。やはり世界中で評価されているのですね！紫とグリーンのイメージがあまりできなかったのですが、[こんな写真[(https://www.houzz.jp/写真/garden-ornament-and-accessories-by-barnes-walker-landscape-architecture-manchester-phvw-vp~16839735)を見つけました（和ではないですが、、、）！グリーンが引きだって素敵です。「Kartell(イタリア)」のグリーンのチェアだと今の無垢のテーブルだと合わないかもしれないですね。テーブルも合わせて考えてみます！西陣織はおっしゃるとおり、アクセントに素敵ですよね。取り扱いのある会社さんを探してみます。どうもありがとうございました！

I'm worried to get one that will clash with the tile since it is already kind of busy. But don't want to go so plain that it's bland against my couches. They are solid tan microfiber.

once again, you need to give further information about colors or styles you want to use in the room. not just the carpet, the top 2 rugs are pointing in 2 totally different directions. Is everything else going to be monotone?

I do not think that you need to worry about clashing with the floor. It is a fixture and must be there no matter how it looks.

What i am trying to say is that with the first rug, you would be expected to have many aqua accents. the second red or black. The third is a nondescript rug, though very light.

Hi Jami! Since you may be changing out the couches in a year, it can be good to find a rug that has a palette of colors you like so that you have more options to match later on. With that in mind, the more traditional style (with the medallion) that you included is a better option than the rugs with more minimal color and patterns. Since the size of the room is also quite large, you have the option of getting one big rug — in the 10x14 range — or using a couple of different rugs to create separate sections within the room. I don't have an exact style in mind, that's my problem. I know I don't want anything too modern because most of my furnishings are rustic or distressed.

Ok, I went and looked in your ideabooks you are farmhouse rustic, though a bit more modern in it. You like whites and blues, regular or turquoise. if you use gray or taupe it, is going to be a dab in your white. So here are some rug ideas.
