Our basement is unfinished so we have lots of options (within $$ reason). We like the loft look of natural wood beams and posts, brick wall where TV will hang, etc. Our plan is to close in our supporting poles with natural wood and steel brackets attached to beam across ceiling. We have chosen flooring and carpet. Dilemma- the posts are in the area where the carpet would be installed. Is that a design faux pa?
