Hi Laurie- the sink was bought specially for this project. it is hand made and hand painted, and is holding up well after about 5 years. But it is not as strong or durable as something you would get from Kohler or American Standard--the hand-made sink would be more likely to chip or scratch, if you dropped something on it. -Alan
